Manpower export more than halves during Iran War

The country’s manpower export has fallen more than 50% since the start of the Iran War on 28 February compared with the corresponding period last year, according to data available at the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment.

During the five-and-a-half months from 28 February to 15 August, the number of male expatriate workers has fallen to 2.8 lakh from 4.85 lakh last year.

In Saudi Arabia, the number of aspirant job seekers has fallen to 1.33 lakh from 3.21 lakh year-on-year.

Over the same period this year, the number of women workers was 25,915 compared with 23,936 last year.
