Barca close the gap on Real Madrid with easy win

Barcelona won easily against Elche in the Spanish La Liga. Lamine Yamal found the net after almost two months on the day of the 3-1 victory.

Barca hosted their opponent at their home ground Luis Compañía Stadium on Sunday (November 2).

Forgetting the disappointment of the first El Clasico loss of the season at home, the Catalans started the match well. The hosts cornered Elche with a two-goal lead within two minutes.

Barca took the lead in the 9th minute of the match through a goal by Lamine Yamal, who was in the news for off-field incidents. The forward received the ball from Balde and made the scoreline 1-0 with a powerful shot between the two. The joy did not subside, and Ferran Torres doubled the lead two minutes later after receiving a pass from Fermin Lopez. Rafa Mir made it 2-1 before the break.

Marcus Rashford extended the lead for Barca with a brilliant goal in the 16th minute of the second half. Later, the visitors became desperate to return to the match. However, Elche’s forwards failed to get the ball into the net after eluding the Barca defense. In the end, the Catalans left the field with a 3-1 victory.

It is worth noting that with this victory, Barcelona has risen to second place in the league table with 25 points. Real Madrid is at the top with 30 points.
