Health minister inspects Mugda hospital

Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain on Friday made a surprise visit to Mugda Medical College Hospital in the capital.

During his visit this morning, the health minister inspected various wards of the hospital, including the dengue ward and spoke to patients about the quality of services.

Sakhawat said all tests for dengue are available at the hospital. However, patients have complained that they are being asked to undergo tests outside the hospital, he added.

The health minister said Mugda Hospital has been given priority in providing treatment to dengue patients.

Necessary support has also been provided to the hospital, he said adding that patients are nevertheless being deprived of services.

“Such irregularities cannot be tolerated,” he said.
