Online shopping turned into a bizarre experience for a man in Greater Noida area after the order he had paid Rs 1,999 for arrived — not with an Android device, but filled with cow dung.

Akash Naagar said he had ordered the Android device through Instagram a few days ago for work and made the full payment online. He was expecting the courier to arrive at his home within the promised delivery period.

The package was delivered at around 5 pm on Monday (7 Sept). But when Naagar opened it, he was left stunned to find cow dung inside instead of the device he had ordered.

Naagar subsequently approached the cyber crime police and lodged a complaint, alleging that he had been cheated in the name of online shopping.

Police said they are investigating the website used for the booking, payment details and the delivery process.

Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
