Agriculture Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid has said that there is no shortage of fertiliser in the country and urged farmers not to be worried about supplies.
“There is no shortage of fertiliser in the country. So, there is no reason for farmers to worry about fertiliser,” he said.
The minister made the remarks while speaking to journalists at Phulgazi in Feni on Saturday (12 September).
He warned that action would be taken against anyone attempting to stockpile fertiliser to create an artificial shortage.
The minister said 7,500 farmers in Feni would receive agriculture cards. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will visit Feni on 17 September to formally inaugurate the distribution of the agriculture cards.
Earlier, the minister inspected the venue for the prime minister’s rally in Phulgazi and reviewed preparations and the overall situation.
Feni Deputy Commissioner Mahbub-ul-Karim, Police Superintendent Pratyush Kumar, Department of Agricultural Extension Deputy Director Atik Ullah and other officials concerned were present during the inspection.
