From PR to AI: Shobnom Zarin Chetona expands her corporate communications leadership

Shobnom Zarin Chetona has reached a significant new milestone in a corporate communications career spanning more than six years, taking on a central customer-facing role in an international AI and communications engagement valued at approximately US$4.37 million.

The agreement brings together Australia-based APP AI Pty Ltd, Singapore-based Go Fintech Pte Ltd, and India’s One97 Communications Ltd, the company behind the Paytm platform.

Under the signed agreement, APP AI will provide its Media AI Enterprise platform through a combined software and managed corporate communications service. The initial term covers five years and three months, with a monthly retainer of US$69,436 and an indicative initial-term value of US$4,374,468.

At the centre of the engagement’s communications function is Chetona.

The commercial terms specifically identify Shobnom Zarin Chetona, Corporate Communication Manager, as the dedicated resource assigned to the account.

The appointment represents a significant expansion of responsibility for a communications professional whose experience spans media relations, stakeholder engagement, public relations, journalism and corporate communications.

Under the international engagement, Chetona’s responsibilities include customer engagement, quarterly business reviews, product adoption, requirements gathering, user feedback and communications planning.

Her role also covers implementation coordination, customer communications, executive briefings, service-improvement recommendations, product-update communications and liaison between the customer and APP AI’s technical and product teams.

Chetona is further assigned responsibility for leading quarterly executive review sessions and coordinating strategic communications reviews. This positions her as an ongoing part of the commercial relationship rather than someone involved only during the initial launch or implementation phase.

The engagement reflects a broader evolution in corporate communications within technology and AI companies. Communications professionals are increasingly expected to understand products, customers and commercial objectives alongside traditional media, reputation and stakeholder responsibilities.

APP AI’s Media AI offering reflects this convergence. The platform combines media monitoring, sentiment analysis, crisis intelligence, competitor intelligence, media outreach, executive dashboards and AI-assisted reporting.

Its media-outreach capabilities are designed to support professional public-relations activities while helping organisations maintain consistent messaging and brand standards across communications channels.

For Chetona, the international engagement represents a shift from simply managing communications around a business to contributing to communications as an integrated part of the business relationship itself.

The agreement also provides for quarterly customer visits involving workshops, business reviews, training and product-optimisation discussions, with Chetona or another authorised representative expected to participate.

She is also identified as a coordinator for knowledge-transfer activities and other customer-facing communications throughout the relationship.

The result is a role positioned at the intersection of corporate communications, AI technology and international account management.

With more than six years of professional experience across media, fintech, communications and AI-related engagements, Chetona’s latest responsibility adds a tangible commercial dimension to her career.

The significance of the achievement extends beyond her association with a multimillion-dollar agreement. The signed commercial arrangement specifically identifies corporate communications and Chetona in particular as an ongoing component of how APP AI intends to deliver and manage the customer relationship.

That distinction makes the engagement an important milestone in her professional development: from a communications practitioner focused on media and stakeholder engagement to a professional entrusted with responsibilities supporting a significant international technology engagement.

Her evolving role illustrates how the boundaries between communications, technology and commercial relationship management are becoming increasingly interconnected in the AI-driven business environment.
