A Dhaka court on Thursday set 27 September for the submission of the probe report in the murder case of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, marking the 19th deferment of the report.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam set the new date after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) failed to submit the report within the scheduled time, said prosecution department Sub-Inspector Rokonuzzaman.
On 12 December 2025, Hadi, an independent candidate from the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot in Dhaka’s Paltan area. He died on 18 December while undergoing treatment in Singapore.
On 14 December, Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Moncho, filed an attempted murder case with Paltan Model Police Station over the incident, which was later converted into a murder case following Hadi’s death.
Later, on 6 January, DB Inspector Faisal Ahmed, the investigation officer in the case, submitted a charge sheet against the 17 accused.
However, on 15 January, the plaintiff filed a no-confidence (naraji) petition, stating that the charge sheet had omitted the main planners behind the killing.
Subsequently, the court directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate the case.
