Jamaat ameer congratulates Mirza Fakhrul on election as president

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the 23rd president of Bangladesh.

In a post on his verified Facebook page on Thursday, Shafiqur expressed hope that the newly elected president would use his “highest ability and wisdom” to establish justice, uphold democracy and safeguard the country’s independence and sovereignty in the days ahead.

Shafiqur also wished the newly elected president good health and long life.
