Admiral Stephen Thomas Koehler, chief of the US Navy’s Pacific Fleet, will arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday on a three-day tour.
The US Navy Pacific Fleet Commander will lead a strong delegation of 22 service members during the tour.
The delegation would hold multiple meetings with high-ranking officials from the Bangladesh military and defence departments.
The visit is expected to be of high strategic importance with a focus on coordinating regional security measures, and further strengthen bilateral military collaboration.
It would take place almost three days after Sergio Gor, the US president’s special envoy on South and Central Asian Affairs, left Dhaka, concluding a high-level three-day tour.
