Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh Listyowati met Minister of Cultural Affairs Nitai Roy Chowdhury on Wednesday with a view to discussing ways to strengthen bilateral cultural cooperation.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom, and other senior officials of the ministry were also present in the meeting, said a statement released by the Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka on Thursday.
The meeting discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of culture that also important part of culture diplomacy, and at the same time to increase people-to-people contact as the vital base for expanding bilateral relations.
During the meeting, both sides had exchange of views on opportunities to conduct several programs of activities or collaboration in the field of performing arts, visual arts, cultural heritage, museums, literature, handicraft, and economic creative.
This is becoming more importance in the momentum of commemoration of the 55th diplomatic relations of Indonesia and Bangladesh in the year 2027.
Ambassador Listyowati also looks forward to having cooperation with Bangladesh as Indonesia elected as the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguard of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICSICH) for the period of 2026-2030.
