Bangladesh head coach Thomas Dooley has handed England-born 19-year-old Bangladesh winger Farhaan Ali Wahid his international debut as the red and green side take on Malaysia in their opening FIFA ASEAN Cup match at 3:00pm on Friday.

Dooley has made seven changes to the starting XI from Bangladesh’s last international against San Marino on 5 June.

Jamal Bhuyan and Sheikh Morsalin, who started against San Marino, have been left out of the XI. Topu Barman, Isha Faysal, Faisal Ahmed Fahim and Rafiq, who also featured in that match, are not in the 23-man squad for the ASEAN Cup.

Mitul Marma started in goal against San Marino, but the German tactician has handed the gloves to Bashundhara Kings goalkeeper Mehedi Hasan Srabon today.

Hamza Choudhury will anchor the midfield alongside Sohel Rana, with Shamit Shome also operating in midfield. Farhaan Ali Wahid and Fahamedul Islam will support striker Rakib Hossain in attack.
