More than 5,000 runners from Bangladesh and abroad took part in the Turkish Airlines ActivePulse International Half Marathon 2026 at Hatirjheel in Dhaka on Friday, as the airline celebrated its 15th anniversary of operations in Bangladesh.
The event brought together runners, supporters and members of the sporting community to promote health, fitness and active lifestyles.
Hosted by ActivePulse founders Tanvir Ahmed and Morsaline Ahmmed, the half marathon was attended by representatives from the government, aviation, business and diplomatic communities.
Speaking at the event, Turkish Airlines representative and chief guest Islam Gure highlighted the airline’s 15-year journey in Bangladesh and its role in connecting people and cultures.
“For the past 15 years, we have been connecting Bangladesh with Türkiye and the rest of the world. But for us, it has never been only about flying from one destination to another. It is about connecting people, bringing cultures closer together, building friendships, and creating new opportunities,” he said.
Turkish Airlines has supported sporting activities in Bangladesh across several disciplines, including cricket, volleyball and golf. The half marathon further reflected its commitment to community engagement and promoting active lifestyles.
The airline also thanked the organisers, government authorities, partners, volunteers and participants for contributing to the event.
Turkish Airlines said it remained committed to strengthening its ties with Bangladesh and building connections between the country, Türkiye and the rest of the world.
