A Dhaka court on Sunday sent four people to jail in a case filed over multiple crude bomb explosions in front of Jatrabari Police Station two days earlier.

The four accused are Raihan Uddin, Rasel Khan, Alauddin and Abdullah.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque passed the order following a hearing after police produced the four accused before the court.

The court also set 22 September for holding a hearing on a police plea to place them on seven-day remand each.

On 19 September, police arrested Raihan Uddin, allegedly the ringleader, from the Bangshal area and recovered four crude bombs from the Lalbagh area based on information provided by him. Later, his three accomplices were detained from the Dogair area of Demra.

According to the case documents, at around 8:00pm on 18 September, unidentified miscreants exploded four crude bombs in front of Jatrabari Police Station on the main road with the aim of creating anarchy and panic and disrupting the normal activities of the public. Pedestrian Ibadur Rahman was seriously injured in the incident.

A case was filed with Jatrabari Police Station under the Explosive Substances Act in connection with the incident.
