The government has appointed new superintendents of police (SPs) in Bagerhat and Chuadanga, transferring the outgoing district police chiefs to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) as deputy commissioners.

According to a Home Ministry notification issued on Sunday (20 September), Md Jamirul Islam, formerly an SP at Police Headquarters, has been appointed SP of Bagerhat.

Bagerhat’s outgoing SP Hassan Mohammad Naser Rikabdar has been transferred to the DMP as deputy commissioner.

In Chuadanga, Mehedi Shahriar, formerly an SP at the Special Branch (SB), has been appointed the new SP.

Chuadanga’s outgoing SP Mohammad Ruhul Kabir Khan has also been transferred to the DMP as deputy commissioner.

The notification said the transfers and postings were made in the public interest and would take immediate effect.
