July Martyr Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho’s family members paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at Bangabhaban in the capital on Sunday.

The family members were Mugdho’s father Mir Mostafizur Rahman, brother Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha and another relative Mahfuza Jafrin Ariba.

During the meeting, the President inquired about the well-being of the family, and exchanged pleasantries.

During the meeting, the family members briefed the President on various measures taken by the government for the welfare and rehabilitation of the families of those killed and injured in the July Mass Uprising, as well as for providing medical treatment to those injured. They requested the President to ensure proper implementation of the government’s initiatives for the welfare of the families of the martyrs and the injured.

The family members also presented the President with a replica of the July Martyrs’ Memorial, bearing the names of 845 July Martyrs published in an official gazette notification.

Expressing profound respect and gratitude for those who were killed or injured during the July Mass Uprising of 2024, the President said that the nation would never forget the sacrifices of those who lost their lives or were injured in the struggle to free the country from fascism. He assured the family members that the state would continue to provide the highest possible support for the overall welfare of the martyrs’ families and for the proper treatment and rehabilitation of those injured.
