Fijian conjoined twins Jesipeli and Di Cecea arrive in Riyadh

Fijian conjoined twins Jesipeli and Di Cecea arrived in Riyadh on Friday to undergo medical assessment at King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital.

Specialists at the hospital will determine whether they can undergo separation surgery, following directives from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor-general of the Kingdom’s aid agency KSrelief, and head of the medical and surgical team of the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the wise leadership for this noble humanitarian initiative.

He said the program was a living expression of the Kingdom’s mission to focus on humanity and life.

He stressed that the Kingdom’s medical excellence, achieved through the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, and the global leadership it has established in managing the most delicate and complex cases, were the result of a deeply rooted humanitarian vision.

It also reflects a sincere determination that has transformed the program into a source of hope born from suffering and a new dawn shining in the eyes of families who have long dreamed of a future in which their children can live together in dignity.

He noted that the continued successes achieved by the Saudi medical team under the program, and through its advanced expertise and highly qualified professionals, have firmly established the Kingdom as a leading global center in this highly specialized field of medicine.

The parents of the Fijian conjoined twins expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Saudi Arabia, its government and people, for the warm welcome, generous hospitality, and swift response that surrounded their two daughters with care and attention.
