
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended Eid-ul-Azha greetings to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and the people of Bangladesh.
In a letter sent on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, Modi conveyed warm greetings on behalf of the people and government of India to the people of Bangladesh.
He said the festival forms an integral part of India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage and is celebrated with joy and enthusiasm by millions of Muslims across the country.
Modi noted that Eid-ul-Azha upholds the ideals of sacrifice, compassion and brotherhood, which help promote a peaceful and inclusive world.
The Indian prime minister also highlighted the deep-rooted ties between India and Bangladesh, built on shared sacrifices, cultural commonalities and a mutual aspiration for peace, stability and development.
He said the government of India looks forward to working closely with Bangladesh to strengthen people-centric cooperation in different sectors for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
Modi also wished good health and well-being to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and continued progress and prosperity for the people of Bangladesh.
