Malaysian authorities on Monday reopened their labour market for taking in Bangladeshi job seekers, following the prime minister’s successful bilateral tour to the country, said Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ariful Haque Choudhury.
However, from now, Bangladesh, and not Malaysia, will choose eligible recruiting agencies, the minister said while speaking at an event hosted at the Sylhet Circuit House on Tuesday.
The government hopes to start sending aspirant expatriates free of charge within one or two months, he added.
Job seekers intending to work in Japan, Mauritius and the Middle East will also get “good news very soon,” the minister said.
