Following the success of the 2023 blockbuster “Surongo”, its much-anticipated sequel, “Surongo-2”, is officially in the works.

Apart from its commercial success, “Surongo” received widespread critical acclaim and won honours in eight categories at the National Film Awards.

Continuing that winning streak, the successful duo of director Raihan Rafi and actor Afran Nisho is returning to the big screen with a new surprise for audiences.

Produced by SVF Alpha-I Entertainment Ltd., “Surongo-2” is scheduled to be released in December 2026.

Popular television actor Afran Nisho made his silver screen debut with “Surongo”, which was released during Eid-ul-Azha in 2023.

Produced by Shahriar Shakil, the film earned praise for Nisho’s portrayal of the character “Masud”. It also received an overwhelming response from audiences both at home and abroad, achieving impressive commercial success at the box office.

Building on that achievement, “Surongo-2” is set to continue the story from where the first film ended.

According to the producer and the production company, the sequel will be presented on a much larger scale, featuring advanced technology, international-standard production values and several new surprises for viewers.

With heightened expectations surrounding the project, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of one of Bangladesh’s most successful cinematic collaborations.
