State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin has ordered immediate action after uncovering various irregularities and administrative shortcomings during surprise inspections at the Aminbazar and Ashulia Revenue Circle offices on the outskirts of Dhaka.
During the visits, the minister observed deficiencies in public service delivery, staff attendance and overall administrative management, and expressed dissatisfaction with the situation.
He subsequently directed the authorities concerned to take prompt action to address the problems.
Service seekers have since reported noticeable improvements in the operations of both offices. According to local residents, delays, inefficiency and a lack of accountability had long caused inconvenience and harassment for members of the public seeking land-related services.
Rajibul Alam, who recently visited the Ashulia Revenue Circle office, said he had observed significant positive changes compared with the past.
“The officials are more active now, and services are being delivered much faster than before,” he said, adding that regular monitoring and accountability measures would further improve service quality and reduce public suffering.
Rozina Khatun, a resident of Aminbazar, also expressed satisfaction with the recent improvements, noting that work was progressing more quickly and that officials appeared to be carrying out their responsibilities more diligently.
Service recipients stressed that continued oversight and stronger accountability among officials would help curb irregularities and ensure that citizens receive timely and effective services, thereby increasing public confidence in government institutions.
Speaking to the media, State Minister Mir Helal said the government remained committed to ensuring efficient, transparent and hassle-free services for citizens.
“Our goal is to provide people with prompt and effective services free from harassment. Any form of irregularity, corruption or negligence in service delivery will not be tolerated,” he said.
The minister added that the government would continue its efforts to bring transparent and accessible land services closer to the public and maintain strict oversight to improve service standards.
