Political leaders must maintain mutual respect, honour and love as essential elements of positive politics, Pabna-5 MP Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas said.
Constructive criticism of flawed policies drives democracy and represents political beauty. However, opposition for the sake of opposition, deliberate humiliation of people, and conspiracies against colleagues do not bring any positive message, he added.
Shimul Biswas, who also serves as the chief coordinator of the Bangladesh Jatiyotabadi Sramik Dal central committee, expressed deep concern over the growing animosity among party activists.
He noted that jealousy, disrespect and hatred now dominate the party and its affiliate organisations instead of harmony, good relations and mutual cooperation. Activists are criticising and slandering one another without any apparent reason, creating an anarchic situation. Leaders must halt this self-destructive behaviour immediately.
The lawmaker reminded party members that unity and mutual trust served as the primary strength during their successful anti-fascism movement. This collective effort eventually brought the party to power.
Shimul Biswas urged everyone to forget unnecessary divisions and build a political culture that will deliver a new Bangladesh. He concluded by stating that unity ensures absolute victory and sought blessings from Allah.
