Meghna Alam Announces Initiative to Assist Bangladeshi Migrant Workers

Though widely recognized as a model, Meghna Alam is a multifaceted personality whose work spans labor rights, education, and international development. She is a former Miss Bangladesh, a political educator, and the current National Director of Miss Earth Bangladesh. At the same time, she serves as General Secretary of the women’s committees of multiple trade unions, representing workers in the building, construction, agriculture, and wood industries on global platforms.

Alam is also known for her advocacy on labor rights at both governmental and international levels, where she regularly delivers lectures and participates in awareness campaigns. Recently, she announced through social media that she intends to step up her efforts to address the problems faced by Bangladeshi migrant workers.

In her public statement, Meghna Alam said, “My Messenger inbox will remain open for the next 48 hours. You may also email me at: meghnaalam@gmail.com.”

She noted that Bangladeshi migrants, particularly those in Saudi Arabia, have long been sharing accounts of hardship and harassment with her. Based on these recurring complaints, she has decided to pursue solutions through formal channels.

“Any Bangladeshi migrant, from any country, may write to me with full details and necessary documents,” she stated. “My team will contact everyone who reaches out within these 48 hours. As long as I am alive, and if your problem is genuine, you will find a solution.”

Her announcement has drawn positive responses from members of the expatriate community, many of whom believe that such individual initiatives could help address longstanding challenges faced by Bangladeshi workers abroad.
