President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday appointed Justice Md Habibul Gani as a judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.
“The president made the appointment in accordance with Article 95(1) of the constitution. The appointment will take effect from the day he takes oath of office,” according to a gazette notification issued by the Law and Justice Division.
Born on 31 May 1962, Justice Habibul Gani obtained MSS and LLB degrees from the University of Chittagong.
He was enrolled as an advocate of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court on 11 April 1992. He was elevated as an additional judge of the High Court Division on 18 April 2010, and appointed as a judge of the same division on 15 April 2012.
