The country currently has sufficient stocks of fertilisers and the crisis seen in some areas are being artificially engineered by an organised group that seeks illegal profits, said Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid on Wednesday.
The minister made the remark at the concluding session of a two-day training organised by the Upazila Livestock Office in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj.
Amin Ur Rashid said the government is committed to ensuring fair prices for the farmers for their produce.
Around 75% of the country’s people are involved in agriculture and that strengthening their economic condition would strengthen the national economy, the minister added.
