Father, son killed in pickup-CNG collision in Mymensingh

A father and his son were killed in a collision between a pickup truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Mymensingh on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred around 9:30am in the Alalpur area on the Mymensingh-Phulpur road. According to police, the victims were passengers of the CNG-run auto-rickshaw.

The incident was confirmed by Sub-Inspector Farid of Kotwali Model Police Station.

Police and local sources said a passenger-carrying CNG-run auto-rickshaw was heading toward Phulpur when it collided head-on with a pickup truck coming from the opposite direction in the Alalpur area. The father and son died on the spot.

SI Farid said police recovered the bodies after receiving information about the accident and were working to ease traffic congestion on the road.

Efforts are underway to identify the deceased, while legal proceedings in connection with the incident are being processed, he added.
