The government has increased bus and minibus fares by 17 paisa per kilometre following a rise in fuel prices in the domestic market.
The Road Transport and Highways Division of the Road Transport and Bridges Ministry issued a gazette notification to this effect on Wednesday (23 September).
Under the revised fare structure, owners of city, inter-district and long-distance buses and minibuses will be allowed to raise fares by 17 paisa per kilometre.
The revised fares will apply to public bus and minibus services across the country.
