A source told TOLOnews that the allegations by Pakistani security officials could not be substantiated, rejecting claims that drones had been launched from Afghanistan into Pakistan.

The source added that the Afghan Air Force has so far carried out no drone attacks and that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan itself will determine the timing and manner of any retaliatory response.

Pakistani media reported that Pakistani security sources claimed they had shot down eight drones allegedly sent from Afghanistan near Kohat and Torkham. The sources said the action was taken in response to recent attacks and to defend Pakistani territory.

Political analyst Abdul Naser Shafiq said: “Pakistan has long sought, at the direction of other countries, to prevent political stability in Afghanistan. Now, because of its financial and economic needs, Pakistan may also have taken on a project or mission from others.”

Following the Pakistani military regime’s recent airstrikes on Kunar and Paktika provinces, India’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson condemned the attacks and stressed that such actions against a sovereign country are inconsistent with regional peace and security.

Responding to Asim Munir’s remarks on combating terrorism, he also stressed that Pakistan should demonstrate credible commitment and practical action against cross-border terrorism rather than making claims.

Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said: “Such instances of aggression against a sovereign neighbor are inconsistent with regional peace and security and have a negative impact on regional peace and stability. This is yet another instance of aggression by Pakistan. We once again reiterate our strong and steadfast support for Afghanistan, its independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, as well as the welfare and well-being of the Afghan people.”

Meanwhile, some analysts have criticized the silence of the international community and Islamic countries regarding Pakistan’s airstrikes on parts of Afghanistan and have called for Pakistan to be held accountable.

Political analyst Moeen Gul Samkani said: “Pakistan has once again committed an unforgivable crime against the innocent people of Afghanistan by attacking Paktika and Kunar provinces. International organizations, particularly UNAMA, which is based in Kabul, have also presented their report. In this regard, the Security Council is obliged to hold Pakistan accountable in accordance with its actions so that such incidents are not repeated in the future.”

Pakistan’s military regime carried out airstrikes on Paktika and Kunar provinces at around 3 a.m. on Monday, killing three people and wounding four others in Kunar. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has also pledged an appropriate response to Pakistan’s action.
