Bangladesh, Qatar discuss expanding job opportunities for workers

Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman met Qatar’s Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri during his official visit to Doha, with the two sides discussing ways to strengthen cooperation in the labour and manpower sector.

The ministers exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, placing particular emphasis on labour cooperation, workers’ welfare and protection, and expanding employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers, including skilled and semi-skilled workers.

Dr Al Marri commended the valuable contribution of Bangladeshi workers to Qatar’s economic growth and development.

Both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in labour and manpower, according to the Bangladesh side.
