How to apply for Class XI admission in 2026

The online admission process for Class XI for the 2026-27 academic year will begin on Wednesday (2 September), with students able to submit their applications until 8pm on 10 September.

Students who have passed the SSC or equivalent examinations can apply online for admission to colleges across the country. There will be no admission test, and selection will be based solely on students’ SSC or equivalent examination results.

Here is a step-by-step guide to the Class XI admission process.

How to apply

Step 1: Visit the admission website

Students will have to apply online through the government-approved Class XI admission system (www.xiclassadmission.gov.bd). The process is supervised by the Ministry of Education and applies to both government and private colleges.

Step 2: Fill in the application

Applicants will need to provide the required information and select their preferred colleges and groups.

A student can select up to 10 colleges in an application. They can also apply to different shifts, versions or groups at the same college, where applicable.

The online system will show the specific requirements and available options for each college.

Step 3: Choose colleges carefully

Students should select colleges according to their SSC or equivalent results, preferred group, location and other requirements. Since admission is based on merit, students should consider their chances of securing a place when making their choices.

Step 4: Submit the application

After completing the form and selecting the preferred institutions, students should review all information carefully before submitting the application.

How will students be selected?

There will be no admission test or separate selection examination.

Students will be placed on merit lists based on their SSC or equivalent examination results. In case of equal GPA, total marks and, where necessary, marks in specific subjects will be considered according to the admission policy. The merit list results will be published on 17 September.

What happens after the merit list?

Students whose names appear on a merit list must complete the online admission confirmation process within 19 September and pay the required confirmation fee.

Students who fail to confirm their admission within the deadline could lose their allocated seat, which may then be offered to another applicant.

Important dates

According to the admission schedule, the key dates for the 2026-27 academic year are:

The admission process for this academic year is being conducted under the latest policy issued by the Ministry of Education. Students should keep track of the official schedule, as dates may be revised if necessary.

Missing an application or confirmation deadline could mean fewer available seats or losing the opportunity to secure admission for the academic year.

With classes scheduled to begin on 23 September, students should complete each stage of the process within the stipulated time.
