French Top 14 side Rennes announced on Thursday the signing of USA international right-back Bryan Reynolds.
The 25-year-old, who was playing in the Belgium Pro League for Westerlo, has signed a contract until 2030.
Prior to that, he came through at FC Dallas and joined Roma in 2021.
“It’s a big step up and I was hoping the deal would be completed quickly,” said Reynolds who has won seven international caps but was not part of the USA squad at the World Cup.
“I was really eager to get here. It’s only logical to accept such a challenge with the Europa League.”
Last season, Rennes finished sixth in Ligue 1, just one point off the Champions League places.
Bryan Reynolds “is exactly the profile we were looking for”, said Loic Desire, the club’s sporting director in a statement.
“He managed to establish himself in Belgium after a tough spell at Roma. He’s already a mature player despite his young age.”
