Indian opposition leaders ​Rahul Gandhi and ‌his sister Priyanka, along with members ​of their Congress ​party, staged a protest ⁠outside Prime ​Minister Narendra Modi’s house, ​videos shared by the party showed on ​Tuesday, reports Reuters.

“We have marched ​to PM Modi’s house ‌to ⁠demand answers from him for the brutalities against young ​students ​yesterday,” ⁠Rahul Gandhi posted on X,​ referring to ​the ⁠clashes between youth protesters and police ⁠in​ Delhi on ​Monday.

“The government doesn’t want to take any accountability, nor does it want to have a debate on it in parliament,” he said.

Rahul’s comments came after police said 60 protesters were injured in clashes with security forces in the heart of New Delhi on Monday, marking the biggest street rally in the capital for about five years, reports AFP.

Thousands of protesters had gathered to demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, following an appeal by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) online movement.

Police fired tear gas and charged with batons at protesters, who responded by pelting stones. At least 118 police personnel were also injured, Delhi Police said.
