A special healthcare and awareness programme has been organised in Dhaka to mark World Heart Day 2026, with the aim of raising public awareness about heart disease and bringing preventive healthcare services closer to the people.

The programme, held under the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat,” includes free electrocardiogram (ECG) screening for citizens.

The programme was organised by GD Assist Ltd. with Aster Pharmacy Bangladesh as the powered-by partner. Dazrok Investments UAE and Green Delta Insurance PLC were sponsoring the initiative, while Crowne Plaza was serving as the hospitality partner.

According to the organisers, one of the key objectives of the programme was to raise awareness among the public about the risks of heart disease, preventive measures and healthy lifestyles, while also helping identify potential cardiac risks at an early stage. As part of the initiative, free ECG screening camps were being conducted at several locations across the capital.

The main venue of the programme was in Gulshan-2, where the first session was held.

Shamita Tabassum, chief operating officer of GD Assist Ltd., delivered the welcome address at the event. Faria Shabnam Diana, managing partner of Dazrok Investments UAE, addressed the gathering on behalf of the sponsor.

Rashed Al-Makil Al-Jabi, director of the foreign aid office at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, attended the event as the special guest. The keynote address was delivered by Farzana Chowdhury, managing director and CEO of Green Delta Insurance Company PLC.

The afternoon session is scheduled to take place at Police Plaza in Gulshan-1, followed by an evening screening session in Jigatola.

The closing remarks will be delivered by Shariful Islam Khan Yusuf Joyee, head of sales and marketing at Aster Pharmacy Bangladesh.

According to the organisers, the initiative was organised as part of GD Assist’s ongoing healthcare and public awareness programmes. Aster Pharmacy Bangladesh is involved in various health and public welfare initiatives, the organisers said.
