Admiral Steve Koehler to discuss US defence ties with Bangladesh: Embassy

US Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Steve Koehler will arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday for a three-day official visit.

During the visit, Admiral Koehler is scheduled to meet senior Bangladeshi officials to discuss the long-standing US-Bangladesh defence partnership, according to the US Embassy in Dhaka.

He will also explore opportunities to expand cooperation in maritime security, humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and professional military education, the embassy added.

Earlier, US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Ambassador Sergio Gor concluded his three-day maiden Bangladesh visit on Saturday, conveying Washington’s commitment to deepen strategic and economic ties and continued support to resolve the Rohingya crisis.
