Prof Md Shamsul Alam of the Department of Government and Politics and Prof Mohammad Nazrul Islam of the Department of Mathematics have been appointed as pro-vice-chancellor (academic) and pro-vice-chancellor (administration), respectively.

The Ministry of Education issued separate notifications in this regard.

According to Section 13(1) of the Jahangirnagar University Act, 1973, President Mohammed Shahabuddin, who is also the chancellor of the university, appointed them for a four-year term.

The appointments will take effect from the date of their joining, read the notifications.
