
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has alleged that those currently attempting to create anarchy in the country are secretly maintaining contact with individuals who were removed on 5 August .
He made the remarks on Saturday while addressing a civic gathering in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh after inaugurating a canal excavation project.
Earlier, the Prime Minister formally inaugurated the re-excavation work of the Dharar canal in Trishal.
He said that the rule of law would be established in the country, adding that anyone committing offences would face punishment under the law.
The Prime Minister alleged that those blocking roads and resorting to arson were attempting to obstruct the rule of law.
He urged people to remain vigilant against those trying to hinder justice and public welfare initiatives.
He further said that any conspiracy would be resisted with the support of the people.
Referring to the killing of Ramisa as deeply tragic, the Prime Minister said the government is committed to ensuring justice through due legal process.
He added that while punishment for wrongdoing would be ensured following proper procedures, some groups are trying to obstruct law enforcement through activities such as blocking roads.
