The Law and Justice Division under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has issued special instructions to all district Public Prosecutors (PPs) and Metropolitan Public Prosecutors to ensure the speedy disposal of cases filed by the families of those killed and the injured in the July Mass Uprising.

The directive was issued through an official letter from the Solicitor Wing’s GP-PP Branch, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md Faruk Hossain. According to the letter, the instruction was issued on 2 August.

The ministry said that families of those killed in the July Mass Uprising and the injured—referred to as July fighters—have filed multiple cases in courts across the country.

The letter instructed prosecutors to handle these cases with due diligence and utmost importance to facilitate the swift completion of legal proceedings and ensure timely justice.
