Brothers Union secured their first victory of the 2026-27 season across all competitions on Tuesday, staging a superb second-half comeback to defeat Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club 4-1 in their Federation Cup Group A clash at the Bir Shreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
Omar Sise’s side found themselves trailing in the first half after Sulaiman Silla put Young Men’s Club ahead. However, Brothers Union turned the match completely around after the 60-minute mark. A penalty goal brought the team level, sparking a dominant finish from the men in orange.
Substitute Abdul Halim was the standout performer, scoring twice after coming off the bench to put the game out of reach. Thiago Da Silva and Syed Ali Reza also found the back of the net to wrap up a comfortable win.
The result takes Brothers Union to the top of Group A with four points, following their goalless draw against Rahmatganj in their tournament opener.
Meanwhile, newcomers Chittagong City FC also claimed their first win of the season by defeating Rahmatganj 3-1 in the day’s other fixture. After suffering three straight defeats in the football league and failing to win their Federation Cup opener, the port city club finally tasted victory. They now sit second in the group, level on four points with Brothers Union.
