Dengue Death Toll in Bangladesh Rises to 292

Dhaka, November 4 — Four more deaths from dengue were reported in the 24 hours leading up to Tuesday morning, bringing the total fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh this year to 292, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 1,101 new patients were hospitalized with viral fever, raising the total number of cases in 2025 to 73,923.

The DGHS provided a breakdown of new cases reported in various regions over the last 24 hours:

  • Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC): 241

  • Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC): 175

  • Dhaka Division (outside city corporations): 208

  • Barishal Division (outside city corporations): 151

  • Chattogram Division (outside city corporations): 125

  • Khulna Division (outside city corporations): 59

  • Mymensingh Division (outside city corporations): 75

  • Rajshahi Division (outside city corporations): 45

  • Rangpur Division (outside city corporations): 19

  • Sylhet Division (outside city corporations): 3

For context, 575 people died of dengue last year, while 2023 remains the deadliest year on record, with 1,705 deaths, 321,179 cases, and 318,749 recoveries recorded.

Health authorities continue to urge citizens to take preventive measures against mosquito bites and to seek early treatment for dengue symptoms.
