7 ASPs, 49 inspectors sent into retirement

The government has retired 56 police officials, including seven assistant superintendents of police (ASPs) and 49 inspectors quoting public interest.

The home ministry issued separate gazette notifications in this regard on Thursday through its Police-1 and Police-2 units, signed by home ministry Senior Secretary Manzur Morshed Chowdhury on behalf of the president.

According to the notification issued by the Police-1 unit, the seven ASP-ranked officials were retired in the public interest under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018.

The retired officials are ASP Nure Alam Siddiqui of the RAB headquarters; assistant commissioner (Patrol) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Tejgaon Division Md Nurul Mottakin; ASP of Matiranga Circle in Khagrachhari Kazi Wazed Ali; ASP of Galachipa Circle in Patuakhali Md Syeduzzaman; ASP of RAB-2 Md Golam Kibria; ASP of the Dhaka Regional Reserve Force Mohammad Mizanur Rahman; and ASP of Sirajganj district Md Rabiul Islam.

The order took immediate effect, and the retired officials will receive all retirement benefits according to government rules.

Meanwhile, a separate notification issued by the Police-2 unit said 49 police officers were retired in the public interest after completing 25 years of government service, in accordance with Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018 (Act No 57 of 2018).

The order regarding the 49 officials also took immediate effect, and they will receive retirement benefits as prescribed by the rules.
