Prime Minister’s Adviser and PMO spokesperson Mahdi Amin has said the 2026 SSC and equivalent examination results were prepared through a fully impartial assessment of students’ merit.

Speaking at a press conference at the Secretariat on Monday following the publication of the results, he congratulated students who performed well and urged those who did not achieve their expected results not to lose hope.

“This is not the end of life. The government will always stand beside those who did not get the results they expected,” Mahdi said.

He said the government had moved away from the past practice of artificially increasing GPA-5 scores or pass rates. “We want an education system where students emerge with their actual abilities, skills and creativity,” he said.

According to Mahdi, CCTV cameras and body-worn cameras were used at examination centres this year, while examiners received necessary training to ensure accurate assessment. He also said there were no incidents of question-paper leaks and that the examinations were held in a fair and orderly environment.

The adviser urged students to set clear goals, work hard and maintain confidence regardless of their results. He also called on the media to highlight students’ achievements while helping identify shortcomings in the education system.

Mahdi said the government was also working to reform academic curricula, introduce new textbooks, expand teacher training, integrate sports and culture into education, and promote the appropriate use of technology.

He acknowledged that rebuilding an education system affected by years of institutional problems would take time, but said the government was committed to bringing positive changes through consultation and coordinated efforts.
