Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan have emphasised the need to further broaden existing relations between the two countries and make them more effective.
Both sides expressed interest in further expanding cooperation on various issues of mutual interest.
The two leaders held a meeting at the UAE Mission in New York on Friday.
During the meeting, they discussed further strengthening the friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Bangladesh and the UAE.
They also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, trade and investment, economic partnership, manpower, and regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was held as part of the prime minister’s engagements on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
