Deadline extended for Bir Muktijoddha enlistment applications

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has extended the deadline for submitting applications for fresh gazette enlistment as Bir Muktijoddha (Valiant Freedom Fighter) until 7 October 2026.

According to a gazette notification issued on Thursday, relevant persons have been urged to submit their applications within the extended deadline. No new applications will be accepted after 7 October.

A memorandum issued by the Gazette Branch of the ministry asked its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Branch to take necessary measures to publish the public notice on the ministry’s website. Under Secretary Haridas Thakur signed the memorandum.

The ministry said applications for enlistment as Bir Muktijoddha had previously been received and verification activities conducted at various times.

It said gazette enlistment is settled through the prescribed process after verifying applicants’ role during the Liberation War, relevant documents and other information.

The ministry said there are provisions for verifying applications through the National Freedom Fighters Council and the relevant administrative structure.
