The United States has reiterated its commitment to supporting a stable and prosperous Bangladesh following a meeting between US Ambassador Christensen and National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam.
In a statement shared on the US Embassy in Dhaka’s official Facebook page on Wednesday, Ambassador Christensen said he had a “candid conversation” with Nahid Islam regarding the NCP’s parliamentary agenda.
“Thank you, Convener of the NCP and Opposition Chief Whip, Nahid Islam, for the candid conversation on your party’s parliamentary agenda,” the ambassador said.
He reaffirmed Washington’s continued engagement with Bangladesh, highlighting bilateral economic cooperation under the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade.
“We continue to support a stable and prosperous Bangladesh through partnerships like the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade that is driving prosperity in both of our countries,” Ambassador Christensen added.
