US Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Steve Koehler visited the historic Lalbagh Fort in the capital on Thursday, concluding his official visit to Bangladesh.
US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen accompanied Koehler during the visit, according to the US Embassy in Dhaka.
The admiral toured the restored Hammam Khana and learned about the US Embassy’s efforts to help preserve Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage through conservation initiatives at the historic Mughal-era site.
The visit highlighted the United States’ continued interest in Bangladesh’s cultural and historical heritage and its support for preservation projects.
Koehler’s visit to Lalbagh Fort marked the final engagement of his Dhaka tour before his departure.
