Dhaka district administration unveils ‘Hello DC’ platform to ease citizen services

The Dhaka district administration on Tuesday launched the ‘Hello DC’ application to make its services more accessible, convenient and user-friendly for citizens.

The application was officially launched at a programme held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.

According to the district administration, citizens can now access various services through the platform without having to visit government offices.

They can obtain information on land services, law and order, relief, social safety net programmes, licensing and other public services from a single digital platform.

Citizens can also book appointments with the deputy commissioner and access services related to NGOs, licensing, mutation, vested property and various forms of public assistance.

Apart from the app, citizens can directly contact the district administration by calling 01961606060 between 9am and 4pm, officials said at the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam said the project had been designed to provide government services to citizens at their doorsteps.

“Through this, citizens’ time, cost and harassment will be reduced, making the district administration more transparent, accountable and service-oriented,” she added.

Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Md Moniruzzaman Mia welcomed the timely launch of the application and said initiatives like this would make district administration services more accessible to people.

According to the district administration, the app will gradually be expanded with additional features and services. It can be downloaded from the ‘Hello DC’ website.
