Popular Dhallywood filmmaker Raihan Rafi unveiled the cast of his upcoming film “Andhar” during an episode of Geek Myth’s podcast on Monday.
The film features a star-studded lineup, including Siam Ahmed, Chanchal Chowdhury, Nazifa Tushi, Mostofa Monwar, Farrukh Ahmed Rehan, Afsana Mimi, Gazi Rakayet, and Tanzika Amin.
The podcast was hosted by Shakib Chowdhury of Cryptic Fate, who is also one of the three writers of “Andhar”. The story and screenplay have been co-written by Bassbaba Sumon of Aurthohin and Adnan Adib Khan.
According to Shakib, “Andhar” will be a horror film deeply rooted in Bangladeshi culture—blending mystery, thriller, murder, and emotion—rather than relying solely on the jump-scare formula common in Western horror.
In the film, Siam Ahmed will portray detective Delwar, Chanchal Chowdhury will appear as Shamsher, Nazifa Tushi as Nadia, Mostofa Monwar as Inspector Monowar, and Farrukh Ahmed Rehan as Himel.
Andhar marks the reunion of Siam Ahmed and Raihan Rafi after their successful collaborations in “Poramon 2” and “Damaal”. Their partnership has already created significant buzz in the industry, and their shift to the horror genre has raised high expectations. Given Rafi’s previous success in thrillers, romance, and action, audiences are eager to see how he explores the supernatural dimension in his latest venture.
According to the production team, the film is planned for release outside the two Eid seasons, with pre-production currently underway.
