Plot Allocation Case: Hasina, Rehana, Tulip jailed for varying terms

A Dhaka court has handed down prison sentences of varying lengths to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, and daughter Tulip, along with 14 others, in a case over the illegal allocation of residential plots.

The verdict was delivered on Monday morning by Judge Rabiul Alam of Dhaka’s Special Judge Court-4.

The case centred on accusations that the accused unlawfully obtained plot allocations during Hasina’s tenure in office.

Details of the individual sentences were not immediately available, but the court confirmed that all 17 accused were convicted on charges related to the misuse of authority in securing the allocations.
