Dhaka: Dhallywood’s top actor Shakib Khan continues to hold the record for the highest remuneration among Bangladeshi film stars. Rumors suggest that he received BDT 3 crore for his latest film, Prince. While the exact figures remain unconfirmed, it is certain that his fee exceeds several crore taka. His appearance fees for events also follow a similarly high scale.
On Friday, Shakib Khan attended the inauguration of a new showroom for an international accessories brand in Banani, Dhaka. His brief appearance quickly went viral on social media. Reports claim that he was paid BDT 35 lakh for only 20 minutes of presence, which roughly amounts to over BDT 1.7 lakh per minute.
Popular presenter and radio jockey Golam Kibria commented on Facebook: “Bangladesh’s superstar gave 20 minutes, and took BDT 35 lakh. The task was just promoting a brand! There’s no mention of the brand on Facebook, not even a tag. All people see is his moustache and look. Interesting. Which agency managed this event?”
Shakib Khan shared some photos of the Banani event on his Facebook page on Saturday afternoon. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding the exact fee or duration. The topic has sparked widespread discussion and debate across social media.
Meanwhile, Shakib Khan is busy with his upcoming film Soldier, directed by Sakib Fahad, opposite Tanzin Tisha. The film is slated for release next year.
