A political party plotting against country to undermine govt: Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that a political party is conspiring against the country in an attempt to make the government fail.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday after paying tribute at the graves of former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, Rizvi said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is working to address the country’s major challenges, including the gas shortage, measles and dengue.

He said the prime minister is giving priority to the people in line with his commitments.

Rizvi said conspiracies were carried out during the tenure of former President Ziaur Rahman to make him fail, and similar efforts are continuing now.

He also criticized India for allowing former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to make public statements, saying it was an insult to those killed during the July movement.

Rizvi said Sheikh Hasina is a fugitive from Bangladesh and is facing multiple murder and corruption cases. He said legal proceedings against her are ongoing. He also criticised India for allowing her to make public statements.
