Six Killed in Noakhali Truck-Autorickshaw Collision

Noakhali, November 4

Six people, including two students, lost their lives when a truck ran over a CNG-run autorickshaw in Kabirhat upazila, Noakhali on Tuesday afternoon.

One of the deceased has been identified as Israt Jahan, a student of Noakhali Government College.

According to Kabirhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahin Jahan, both vehicles involved in the accident have been seized for investigation.

The incident occurred around 2:30 pm when a CNG-run autorickshaw carrying five passengers was traveling from Kabirhat upazila to Basurhat in Companiganj upazila via the Kabirhat-Basurhat road. A cargo-laden truck, coming from Maizdee, collided with the three-wheeler in front of the Islamia Alim Madrasa, killing three people on the spot.

Two more victims later died from their injuries at Maizdee Hospital, while another succumbed at Kabirhat Upazila Health Complex. One person is currently receiving treatment at Noakhali Sadar Hospital.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the tragic accident.
